One of the softer spots of the Chicago Bears' 2025 schedule is when they play the New York Giants in Week 10.
The Bears will host the Giants at Soldier Field, and it will be after two games against formidable AFC East foes in the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals. Given the high-power offenses that the Ravens and Bengals have, Bears' defensive coordinator Dennis Allen likely will be licking his chops over a get-right game against the Giants. A game that could be a crucial victory for the Bears, considering they play the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Eagles after.
It may not be the quarterback room of the Cleveland Browns, but the Giants' quarterback is equally fascinating. This offseason, despite flirtations with Aaron Rodgers, the Giants added veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. The Giants still have Tommy DeVito on their roster, and traded back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.
The Giants now find themselves in a similar position to the Bears of a few years ago, not with Caleb Williams but Justin Fields. The Bears also had Andy Dalton on their roster and were committed to the veteran quarterback being their starter. An early-season injury to Dalton forced the Bears to hand the reins over to Fields.
The Bears may just play spoiler for Jaxson Dart's NFL debut
With both Winston and Wilson on the roster, chances are one of the veterans will open the season as the Giants' starting quarterback. However, given where both veterans are in their respective careers, it would seem likely that Dart is named the starter at some point during the closing weeks of the season. The Week 10 matchup against the Bears could be the game that is circled for Dart's debut.
That would be a dream come true for the Bears' defense. With veterans in the secondary such as Jaylon Johnson, Jaquan Brisker, and Kevin Byard, the defense likely will be looking to give Dart a rude awakening for what life in the NFL is like. Dart's NFL debut might not be the only debut the Bears look to ruin. In theory, JJ McCarthy will be making his NFL debut in Week 1 against the Bears.
