Many New York Giants fans were baffled when they kept head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen around after the 2024 season when they went 3-14. Owner John Mara kept them around during for the 2025 NFL season.

On Thursday, Kay Adams interviewed Schoen about many different topics regarding the Giants. Adams asked him,
“This is Daboll’s guy. Is that what you want me to think or is that your guy too?”
Schoen told her,
“It was an organizational decision. Any player we take it’s a collaborative process.”
This is not a surprise, but Schoen also mentioned that it helps that Daboll has an offensive background. When he was the offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills, he helped develop quarterback Josh Allen. Schoen is hoping that Dart could be developed by Daboll for the long haul.
The Giants decided to choose Dart over Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft. New York scouted both quarterbacks very extensively. Also, Dart will start the season on the bench, but the Giants are hoping he is the long-term answer for this football team.
