Chelsea are still scrambling to get back into the Champions League next season and there have been fears that a failure to do so could result in the sacking of Enzo Maresca.

With two games left to play, the Blues are yet to secure a top-five finish in the Premier League but thankfully, they are in a commanding position to finish above Villa, Forest and Brentford. Chelsea also have a chance of winning silverware when they face Real Betis in the Conference League final later this month.

One would believe that the next three games would be very crucial for Enzo Maresca but according to a report by ESPN, the Italian will not be sacked at the end of this season. The club’s hierarchy are showing full confidence in the manager because they understand that Enzo is working with a very inexperienced squad and he needs time to work his way through all the clutter.

Should Chelsea gamble with Enzo Maresca for one season?

Chelsea had sacked Mauricio Pochettino after just one season and many think Enzo Maresca will suffer the same fate this summer. However, it looks like Todd Boehly is ready to have patience with the manager and we strongly believe that’s the way to go.

Maresca has won 32 out of the 54 games he’s managed at Chelsea since taking charge and currently, he is averaging 1.9 points per game. The team’s form has dipped over the previous couple of months but they started the campaign in fine form and that’s how Enzo Maresca will want his side to play for the whole of the 25/26 season.

The manager took charge of an unusually large squad and amidst all the injuries, he is still figuring out his best combination. Chelsea have shown sparks of brilliance throughout the season and their attacking prowess has even received praise from Mikel Arteta.

The Italian has demanded that Chelsea sign some experienced players in the summer and if the management accepts this request the Blues can very easily become a strong title contender next season. However, it will be very interesting to see how their transfer strategy pans out because Todd Boehly wants to sign players who are under 25 and can remain an asset to the club for the next five to six years at least.

If Chelsea fail to finish in the top five and then go on to lose the Conference League final, there will be a lot of criticism and chatter but it makes no sense for the club to sack Enzo Maresca and start yet another rebuild.

The new owners have wasted a lot of time and money on restocking the dressing room and now they put their faith in their manager for one more season – at least. Man United, despite their catastrophic season have decided to go ahead with Ruben Amorim so the Blues can surely replicate that with Maresca.
