No one is talking about this Brock Purdy X-factor when looking at 49ers schedule

Brock Purdy will be under a lot of pressure to deliver in 2025, and one notable element of the 49ers' schedule should come into play.

No matter what happens with regard to his contract extension, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will be under immense pressure over the course of 2025, either having to live up to the dollar amount given to him or to prove he's worth a hefty sum, provided the Niners decide to postpone talks for another year.

There are plenty of reasons to believe in Purdy, and multiple analysts have already declared he'll have a bounce-back season after what was largely viewed as a down year in 2024.

OK, fine. That's nice, especially in light of what's widely being viewed as a very easy 2025 regular-season schedule for San Francisco.

But, there's another aspect for Purdy to the 49ers' schedule that isn't exactly getting talked about a lot.

And it has to do with the weather.

Brock Purdy should have favorable weather for (almost) all of 2025

If there's a clear-cut knock on Purdy that's nearly undisputable, it's the argument he's not particularly great in inclement-weather games, such as last year's fiasco in the snow against the Buffalo Bills in which he posted career lows.

Unless Northern California somehow becomes a bastion for heavy rain and win (we do need it, though), Purdy isn't going to have to worry much about bad weather.

Five of the Niners' road games this year are in domes:

Week 2 at New Orleans Saints

Week 5 at Los Angeles Rams

Week 8 at Houston Texans

Week 11 at Arizona Cardinals

Week 16 at Indianapolis Colts

So, only four remaining contests are in open-air venues.

San Francisco visits historically rainy Seattle in Week 1 when the 49ers play the Seahawks, so bad weather is far less likely than if the game was played in, let's say, November. Meanwhile, visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in mid-October should actually be pleasant at Raymond James Stadium.

Now, visiting the New York Giants in Week 9 in November could be a bit challenging, and the same could be said for a Week 13 tilt against the Cleveland Browns later that month.

But, it's not as if both the G-Men and Browns are shaping up to be defensive powerhouses this season. And if one told Purdy there'd likely be only two games with a moderate chance of bad weather, he'd certainly be happy.
