Colts apologize to Tyreek Hill for ‘insensitive clip’ in now-deleted schedule release video

The Indianapolis Colts released their schedule with a Minecraft-themed video on Wednesday night. But one clip that was meant to be lighthearted turned into an apology.

The clip — which revealed the Colts’ Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins — showed a dolphin wearing a No. 10 jersey representing Tyreek Hill. The dolphin was swimming before he was stopped by the Coast Guard.

The video has since been deleted.

“We removed our schedule release video because it exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill,” the Colts said in a statement obtained by The Athletic’s James Boyd. “We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek.”

Hill has had several run-ins with law enforcement, including a traffic stop last September when he was taken from his vehicle by Miami-Dade police and handcuffed on his way to a game at Hard Rock Stadium. There was also a recent response by Sunny Isles Beach police who responded to an “assault in progress.”

The Dolphins wide receiver, however, found humor in the video.

“Should’ve left it up @Colts,” Hill posted to X. “This was funny.”

Minecraft is owned by Microsoft, which likely put the Colts in a rights violation.
