NFL Executive Has Strong Response to Backlash Over Titans Schedule

One of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL in 2025 will be Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward. However, it'll be difficult for the general football audience to see him in action.

On Wednesday, the NFL revealed the 2025 regular season schedule for all 32 teams. Something that stuck out was that the Titans don't have a single primetime game.

That was met with some backlash, as many couldn't understand why the NFL wouldn't want to showcase the No. 1 pick to a national audience. NFL vice president of broadcast planning and scheduling Mike North has come out to explain why Tennessee didn't get any primetime games.

We kind of have this adage that you play your way into prime time," North told Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. "You don't draft your way into prime time. So the Titans are one of the teams that don't currently have a national television window assigned. But that's what things like flexible scheduling are for. And if you look down the stretch for the Titans, they play San Francisco in Week 15, Kansas City in Week 16. They've got the same opportunity every other team has to play their way into a national window."

The Titans have missed the playoffs in three straight seasons and were the worst team in the NFL in 2024. Considering Tennessee is one of the smaller markets that the NFL has a team in, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that they didn't get any primetime games.
