At long last, FC Barcelona can breathe and be at ease as their season officially comes to an end. With nothing more to fight for, the Catalan giants can finally rest after a long and difficult campaign. Fortunately, Barcelona will get to rest with yet another cause for celebration as well.
Their recent win against Espanyol was more than just a Barcelona derby this time around. While it is almost always an undeniably intense clash between the two local rivals, this particular game between them had something much bigger at stake as well.
A big win for Barcelona over Espanyol
For Barcelona, a win here would mean that they would become champions of La Liga once again. Having fought long and hard for that title all season long, Hansi Flick’s team knew that they were just one step away from realizing that objective of theirs that they had been fighting so long for.

Ultimately, that is exactly what Barcelona managed to do thanks to some brilliant performances from the players. Now, without any doubt or hypotheticals, Hansi Flick’s side are the official La Liga champions of the 2024/2025 season.
Thanks to goals from Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez, La Blaugrana have now managed to win the domestic treble this season. Surpassing Real Madrid in all three competitions this season, they managed to beat Los Blancos to win the Spanish Super Cup, the Copa del Rey title, and now the La Liga title as well.
Time to celebrate
With this being the team’s 28th league title, Barcelona have accomplished something truly historic for themselves. Thanks to Hansi Flick and his tactical and mental revolution at the club, this team now looks hungry for success and they will definitely aim to strive for even more next season.
For now, however, the Barcelona players have every right to celebrate and enjoy their victory. Not everyday does a team get to enjoy being champions of La Liga, and this group of extraordinary players have certainly earned the right to celebrate their latest league title.
