The Philadelphia Eagles knew going into the 2025 schedule release that they had their work cut out for them this season.
Following their run as Super Bowl LIX champions, the Eagles entered the 2025 offseason with one of the hardest schedules on paper this season. Now that the official slate of games has been released, one thing has become clear.
The Eagles got screwed by the league. And two reasons show exactly why.
First, Philadelphia is the first team in NFL history to not have consecutive home games the following year they won the Super Bowl. No defending champ has ever had to go through a consistent travel schedule like this with games on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday all year.
It's absurd to say the least that the Eagles can't get two straight games in the confines of their own stadium.
The second part is one the organization already knew. Philadelphia is the first team in NFL history to play 10 opponents who all made the playoffs the previous year. While their schedule doesn't have a gauntlet quite like the 2023 campaign did, the Eagles are clearly going to be challenged unlike any defending champion this year.
The league wanted to screw the Eagles by banning their famed "Tush Push" despite not having any legitimate data to prove the play was dangerous.
Now, critics can claim that they are looking to screw them in a different way moving forward.

That could galvanize the group even more than they already are at this point.
