Hafley says defense progressed throughout the season

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WMTV) - [The Packers schedule was released along with the rest of the league on Wednesday](https://www.wmtv15news.com/2025/05/15/nfl-releases-2025-packers-schedule/). Green Bay is slated for eight home games and nine on the road for the Green and Gold.

The Packers will, of course, have one home and one on the road against the Bears. The matchup with Chicago will be weeks 14 and 16.

The Packers last meeting with the Bears snapped Matt LaFleur’s undefeated streak against the rivals, ending on a last second Cairo Santos field goal inside Lambeau Field. Jeff Hafley’s defense held Chicago to just 224 yards on the day-- even with 47 of that coming too easily on that final drive.

The Pack ended the season on a slide, falling in their final three games last year. However, Hafley said this week that he liked how his unit progressed down the stretch, good to finish sixth overall in yards allowed.

“In a perfect world you want to get back to where you left off as fast as possible, and build from there,” Hafley said. “So, how fast can we do that. We have guys that have played in the system. We have some new pieces we need to add. We need to evolve. We can’t just do the same thing. Say here’s the play book, this is what we’re running. No, we’re a different team. It’s a different year. Offenses are going to evolve, we have to evolve.”
