Eagles Ranking of 3 Toughest Matchups Key To Super Bowl Repeat

As a congratulations for their victory in Super Bowl LIX, the Philadelphia Eagles have been rewarded with one of the hardest schedules in the league as they make their 2025 title defense.

Philadelphia enters the 2025 season with the fourth-toughest schedule in the league with plenty of marquee matchups across the board ... including a rematch of last year's Super Bowl and multiple playoff showdowns.

The Eagles happen to be the first team in NFL history to face off against 10 teams that all made the playoffs the previous year.

Not all of those opponents are made equal, though. And there are three matchups that stand-out above the rest for Philadelphia as their toughest challenges.

Week 11 vs. Detroit Lions

Before this contest, the Eagles have a playoff rematch with the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field. That's not exactly what you want to be dealing with before a showdown against two teams thay were the top two seeds in the conference last year.

Detroit is angry that didn't get a chance to host the conference title. They will look for revenge on that fact alone this season.

Week 3 @ Los Angeles Rams

No team gave the Eagles fits last year in the playoffs quite like the Los Angeles Rams did in the divisional round. While Philadelphia ran rampant on the Rams last year in Los Angeles, Sean McVay's team is better this season with Davante Adams in tow.

The fact that this is an early game isn't the best news for the Eagles either.

Week 17 @ Buffalo Bills

The mere fact that this game is being played in Buffalo is why this game is ranked above the Cowboys and Commanders. It's a safe bet to assume snow will be in the forcast, and the Eagles didn't exactly play well in their last snow game.

While the division might already be decided beforehand, this could be a matchup that shows if the Eagles are worthy title defenders, or simply a good team that will eventually get knocked out of the playoffs.
