Now that the dust has settled on the NFL's schedule release for the 2025 season, many diehard Houston Texans fans can get down to the real business at hand — planning which road game or road games to attend with other traveling Texans fans. Before we power rank the eight road trips for the Texans this season, here is the complete schedule, for context purposes:

Okay, here is how I would power rank the eight road trips, based on some subjective combination of opponent quality, uniqueness of the Texans visiting there (i.e. division road games, which happen annually, get downgraded), and the geographic "fun" factor of each city. So, here we go:
8. Week 13 - at ColtsThe only time the Colts are going to finish anywhere moderately up this list will be when (a) the game is being played in September or October, and (b) I can combine it with a trip to Notre Dame for an Irish home game. This game is on Thanksgiving weekend in late November. No shrimp cocktail is worth that trip. Sorry, St. Elmo's.
7. Week 11 - at TitansThis trip isn't much better, but at least it's Nashville, where you can see some good country music, and likely witness some sort of viral moment at a bachelorette party. The football game will likely be trash, as the Titans are just a couple months removed from picking first in the draft.
6. Week 3 - at JaguarsCapping off the bottom three in these rankings, the AFC South trifecta, is the Week 3 trip to Jacksonville. The Jags are intriguing, with a new head coach, Liam Coen, who vows to get the best out of Trevor Lawrence. This could be a pivotal early season game for the Texans, their first division game of the year. The Texans will also enter this game with an 11 game AFC South road winning streak. From a fun standpoint, this should still be beach weather in September, so there is that.
5. Week 5 - at RavensOther than crab cakes and maybe visiting some filming locations for The Wire, there isn't much in the way fo extracurriculars in Baltimore. If it were just a game where you had no dog in the fight, it would be higher up the list, because the game day atmosphere in Baltimore is awesome. However, this is a stadium where the Texans have routinely gotten their butts kicked, most recently in a playoff game two years ago. Also, the Ravens smoked the Texans 31-2 last Christmas at NRG Stadium.
**4. Week 14 - at Chiefs (SNF)**This one is a high degree of difficulty, as well, as this is where the Texans' 2024 season ended in the playoffs. Also, this is where Tank Dell tore his knee to pieces in Week 16 last season. Why the gods are dropping so many road games in Kansas City in a one year period is beyond me. That said, the barbecue is pretty good (not Texas good, but good), and the local music scene in Kansas City is very underrated. Fun town.
3. Week 17 - at ChargersThe Texans make two trips to Los Angeles to play at SoFi Stadium this season. This is the second of those two trips, chronologically, and the second of those two trips in my personal rankings. From what I've seen, the atmosphere is better for Rams games than Chargers games, and this game would require traveling during the holidays. If this were the only trip to Los Angeles, it might rank slightly higher, but the Rams are on the schedule, too. More on that in a minute.
**2. Week 7 - at Seahawks (MNF)**Seattle, as a city, isn't all that great a visit. The weather is wet, the homeless are plentiful, and as an eating town, it's just okay. So why does this trip rank so high up the list? Well, it rates a 10 out of 10 on stadium atmosphere, and it rates a 10 out of 10 on uniqueness of the trip. The Texans only play in Seattle once every eight years, so you gotta take advantage while you can!
1. Week 1 - at RamsTHIS is the Los Angeles trip to take. It's the season opener, and there will be no shortage of things to do on a trip to Southern California. The angles in this game are pretty juicy, with new Texans OC Nick Caley going against his old boss, Sean McVay, and with the Rams' defensive line providing the first test for a revamped Texans offensive line. Make your plans now! Head to LA in September!
