Shedeur Sanders is looking to push for playing time during his rookie season with the Cleveland Browns. He has a tough battle ahead of him.
At this point, the Browns have five quarterbacks on their roster. Outside of Sanders, they have Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, and Deshaun Watson.
While Watson is almost certainly not going to be the team's starter this season, the other four quarterbacks will all be vying for reps and starts. All of them have different traits that make them intriguing options for Cleveland.
Ahead of training camp and preseason action, Colin Cowherd spoke out about Sanders. He offered an interesting take on Sanders' future that ended with a pessimistic outlook.
“When I look at Shedeur, all I can think of is Johnny Manziel, Deshaun Watson, and Baker Mayfield," Cowherd said. "This is what happens, this is what losing causes. Hope it ends well, I’ve got my doubts.”
That is a tough take about the Browns, but it's one that holds water. Cleveland has struggled to help quarterbacks find success over the years. Sanders might not be any different.
Of course, Baker Mayfield has gone out to find major success with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. All the Browns can do is wonder what could have been if they stayed confident in Mayfield's ability after making him the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft

Throughout his college career split between Jackson State and Colorado, Sanders showed playmaking and elite arm potential. He completed 70.1% of his passes for 14,347 yards, 134 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions in four years.
Only time will tell, but at the very least Sanders has caused a stir in Cleveland. Cowherd doesn't have a great feeling about him finding success, but Sanders will have a chance to prove him wrong.
