Arsenal will wear new Adidas home kit for the first time vs Newcastle

Arsenal launched their new Adidas 2025/26 home kit with a big fanfare on Thursday.

The new red shirt with white sleeves has a Gothic-style A - synonymous with the Gunners - woven into it and is now available to buy. Ethan Nwaneri, Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly were at the front and centre of the launch video.

According to the Gunners ' official website "the shirt features our Gothic-style Arsenal 'A' woven into it, allowing the iconic 'Victoria Concordia Crescit' crest to be integrated into the design, which notably featured on our classic 1990/91 league-winning home shirt".

It continued: "The shirt is complemented by all-white home shorts with red detailing, and red socks featuring the same gothic 'A' as the shirt, completed with the adidas signature Three Stripes."

So when will supporters get to see the new home shirt for the first time in the flesh at the Emirates Stadium? Will we have to wait until the first game of the 2025/26 campaign to see the players donning it?

The answer to that question is no. football.london understands that Arsenal will be wearing the new home shirt for their final home game of the Premier League season against Newcastle United on Sunday. They will then be wearing it during their pre-season tour of Asia, including against Tottenham in the first ever North London Derby to take place outside of the United Kingdom.

The Gunners will not wear the shirt in their final Premier League game of 2024/25 as they take on Southampton at St Mary's next weekend. With the Saints playing in red and white stripes at home, the Gunners will wear their current away kit, with the new away kit not yet launched.

Arsenal have previously worn new shirts before the end of the campaign, this is not a new occurrence. However, the club did not repeat the tradition last season and against Everton on the final day wore the same kit they had worn throughout at the Emirates Stadium.

With the chance of winning the league on the final day still a possibility, they opted to wear the same kit meaning had they lifted the Premier League trophy, they would have done so wearing the kit they had worn as they won the title. This was despite the club announcing the 2024/25 kit three days before the final match of the season.
