Laporta confirms plan to run for re-election after Barca win La Liga

Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed his intention to run for re-election in the next [presidential elections after seeing the team win La Liga on Thursday night](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/barcelona-la-liga/2025/5/15/24428461/espanyol-barcelona-la-liga-final-score-match-report-recap-reactions).

Hansi Flick’s side have also won the Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League during what’s been a great season.

Laporta has spoken to RAC1 about his plans for the future and is determined to continue.

> “We’ve made difficult decisions, we’ve worked under pressure. It’s been an important year in the club’s recovery, and I’d like to run in the next elections,” he told RAC1.

The next elections are scheduled to take place in 2026.
