Chelsea launched their new 2025/26 home kit on Friday with the Nike shirt taking inspiration from London's iconic landmarks and creative culture.
Cole Palmer, Marc Cucurella, Reece James, Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson all played starring roles in the launch video alongside women's stars Sam Kerr and Millie Bright.
Casper Stylsvig, Chelsea's Chief Revenue Officer said: "The classic Chelsea blue and heritage colours stand alongside architectural icons of our skyline, we are proud to call London our home and to continue playing a big part in shaping its football community and culture."
Premier League rules allow clubs to wear the next season's kit in the final home and away matches of the season. But Chelsea will not be doing so.
The Blues take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Friday night - their final home game of the season - but they will not be wearing the new 2025/26 shirt.
Chelsea have not given a reason for not wearing the new kit, but football.london understands it may have something to do with the sponsorship on the front of the shirt.
Chelsea spent much of the 2024/25 campaign without a front of shirt sponsor. That changed at the end of April when the Blues signed a long-term deal with Dubai company Damac Properties.
Damac agreed to a long-term partnership with the Blues, but a short-term deal for front-of-shirt sponsorship until the end of the 2024/25 season. That meant their logo would be on the front of the club kit for three UEFA Conference League games and four Premier League games.
Damac will therefore not be on the front of the 2025/26 shirt, hence Chelsea not wearing their new shirt with a sponsor on the front that would not be there next season.
The Blues are working on a deal to sign a new front-of-shirt sponsor for the start of the 2025/26 campaign and potentially before that with the Club World Cup due to start in mid-June. The first wear of the new shirt will be at the Club World Cup.
