JJ McCarthy Makes Bold Steph Curry Statement

The Minnesota Timberwolves are back in the Western Conference Finals after beating the Golden State Warriors in five games in the second round. The Timberwolves lost Game 1 against the Warriors but then won four in a row as Steph Curry watched on from the sidelines.

Curry suffered a hamstring strain in the second quarter of Game 1 and was unable to play any further part in the series. The Warriors' struggles without the two-time MVP were just yet another indicator of how great a player he is.

Curry is unquestionably one of the greatest players in NBA history, and Minnesota Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy holds him in very high regard, too.

McCarthy and Vikings' star wide receiver Justin Jefferson attended Game 5 between the Timberwolves and the Warriors at Target Center on Wednesday. The two sat courtside on the night and were mic'd up as well.

A couple of players came over to greet the duo, and Curry was one of them. He exchanged pleasantries with Jefferson, after which McCarthy made a bold statement to his wide receiver about the Warriors guard.

"Greatest of all time," McCarthy told Jefferson.

Jefferson appeared to agree with McCarthy as well.

Curry's ranking in the list of all-time greats is subject to much debate, but what isn't in question is where he ranks among the greatest shooters ever. The 37-year-old is right on top there, and one wonders how differently this series would have panned out if he had been healthy.
