Legendary New England Patriots leader and current North Carolina head football coach Bill Belichick is fresh off an internet fiasco that involved his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
On the press tour for his new book, Belichick was interviewed by CBS News earlier this month, and multiple times Hudson blurted out interruptions from backstage, awkwardly stalling the interview and forcing Bill to avoid certain questions.
The exchange bursted fans into a frenzy as they began to question Hudson's authority in her relationship with the 73-year-old coach.
Now at his next major televised interview since ... Belichick joined New York Giants legend Michael Strahan on Good Morning America Friday.
The two go way back as Strahan's Giants put an end to Belichick's Patriots perfect season in the 2003 Super Bowl XLII. That came after they were once co-workers for a another Super Bowl run with Belichick as Strahan's defensive coordinator.
In the interview, the former defensive end confirmed some noteworthy news: Hudson was not present at the ABC studios.
So, while there might not have been any interview interruptions, there were still some questionable comments about Belichick's personal life with Hudson.
FOX News claims the coach "half-heartedly shamed" Strahan for asking about the personal side of their relationship - the same topic Hudson shot down during the CBS shoot.
Bill did answer humbly, however, that the couple is in a "good personal relationship."
That "personal" note is key after an earlier Belichick interview with ESPN confirmed that Hudson has no affiliation with the North Carolina program, but that she is allowed in the team's facilities ... which could explain her being seen walking on the field with a clipboard during earlier spring practices.
Off the field, she is known to be the COO of Belichick Productions and have been a major help in the release of his book: The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.
“She’s been terrific through the whole process,” Belichick said. “She handles the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life, so I can concentrate on football — and that’s really what I want to do.”
When asked whether he is happy, Belichick responded with brief "yeah."
In the end, this interview followed a much smoother path than Belichick's last national TV spot, but may still leave fans with questions left unanswered after another cringe-worthy segment about the couple's personal lives.
His overall comfort in this showing leads us to believe the coach wants to - and has - put the drama of his personal life behind him so that he can focus on his true passion of coaching football.
