Arsenal have been offered the opportunity to sign Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane on a free transfer, journalist Santi Aouna has claimed.
The Gunners were reportedly alerted to the 29-year-old winger’s potential availability on the market, as his future at Bayern remains unclear with less than a month left on his contract.
The Bundesliga champions were close to reaching an agreement with Sane over a new deal but were forced to restart negotiations after he changed his agent to Pini Zahavi.
Aouna claims that while talks over a new contract are ongoing, there is reportedly a ‘large’ gap between the parties, which could spell the end of the Germany international’s career in Munich.

According to Aouna, Bayern want an answer from Sane’s camp by the end of the week regarding his future at the Allianz Arena:
Sane, praised as ‘world-class’, has been a regular under Vincent Kompany this season, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.
He joined the Bavarians from Manchester City in 2020 and has enjoyed tremendous success in Germany, winning four Bundesliga titles and two German Supercups.
Sane would bring considerable Premier League experience to Arsenal’s squad this summer, with 90 appearances and 55 goal involvements from his time at Man City.
The £325,000-a-week winger is among four Bayern players whose contracts expire at the end of the season, including goalkeepers Alexander Nubel and Sven Ulreich, and club icon Thomas Muller.
