Bill Belichick tells Giants legend more about girlfriend Jordon Hudson

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick expressed appreciation for his girlfriend Jordon Hudson despite her interjection in a previous interview causing public relations headaches.

Belichick appeared on “Good Morning America” Friday to promote his new book. Late in the interview, Good Morning America co-host and former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan asked Belichick about managing his personal life after Hudson’s involvement in the “CBS News Sunday Morning” interview put him in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Belichick said Hudson has been instrumental in his business dealings.

“She’s been terrific through the whole process, and she’s been very helpful to me,” Belichick said. “She does the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life so I can concentrate on football, and that’s really what I want to do. I acknowledged her in the book. She was very helpful on that with the tribute pages.”

Belichick also credited Hudson with helping him relate to people who don’t follow football regularly.

“She also has given a perspective of the book from kind of a business side,” Belichick said. “Sometimes I get a little football technical, and she did a good job of keeping me on balance there.”

Hudson’s involvement in the interview and other business matters has raised questions about Belichick’s ability to lead the University of North Carolina football program, with sports journalist Pablo Torre saying there was a “real chance” Belichick would not make it to the team’s first game against TCU because several people worry about his decision-making.

Torre said Belichick’s buyout drops from $10 million to $1 million on that date, making it more financially feasible for UNC to move on. In an ESPN interview Tuesday, Belichick said Hudson had no involvement in the football program.
