The San Francisco 49ers have locked up their quarterback long-term. Brock Purdy, who has gone 26-14 all time with the team, just signed a massive five-year contract to remain with the team that drafted him.
However, fans aren’t too excited about this news.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero:
The#49ers and QB Brock Purdy agreed to terms on a five-year, $265 million contract extension, his agent Kyle Strongin ofRangeSportstells The Insiders. Purdy gets $181M in total guarantees, including $165.05M in the first three new years of a deal that runs through 2030.
As Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft, Brock Purdy received a $77,012 signing bonus. A little over three years later, he gets a very relevant $265 million extension.
