Play was halted during the clash between Chelsea and Manchester United on Friday night after a pitch invader entered the fray during the dying moments of the match. The supporter was quickly stopped in their tracks by a swarm of security guards deep, with referee Chris Kavanagh stopping play after spotting the intruder.
The individual, donning a Chelsea shirt and blue shirts, raced onto the pitch with the clock approaching the 98th minute, prompting a handful of alert stewards to storm the pitch and bring them to the ground. One steward then appeared to spear the pitch invader, much to the amusement of the home crowd.
