Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta have a number of a huge Arsenal decisions to make in this summer's transfer window. A significant amount of movement is expected in and out of Emirates Stadium with strengthening in four positions the aim.
A striker, wide forward, defender and back-up goalkeeper are said to be the signings Arteta wants with the signing of central midfielder Martin Zubimendi already seemingly wrapped up.
In those other roles, the Gunners have identified a number of different targets with Benjamin Sesko, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres the main options in attack. A fresh update on the latter which could benefit Arsenal has come to light ahead of a crucial eight days for him and Sporting CP.
Sanctioning a transfer for a left winger is likely the second planned attacking addition and Nico Williams is Arteta's favoured choice. Unfortunately, that still looks to be a challenging move to navigate with Real Madrid star Rodrygo emerging as an unlikely alternative.
With all of that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as the summer window is set to open very soon.
Gyokeres boost
According to the Athletic, Sporting may be willing to allow Gyokeres to depart the club for less than his release clause, that appears to be £84million (€100m).
Their report adds that the expectation is a bid between £60million and £70million would be enough to seal the deal.
football.london says: Gyokeres continues to look the best striker addition for Arsenal. Alongside the abundance of goals he scores, his extremely low asking price when considering what RB Leipzig and Newcastle United want for Sesko and Isak, respectively, is another plus.
Also taking into account potential funds raised from any exits, Arsenal will hope to have a large portion of their budget available to use on other signings.
Concerns over all his goals coming in a lesser league are understandable but he has also proven himself in the Champions League. The majority of his goals come between the two posts and that is exactly what Arsenal need.
Rodrygo 'green-light'
Arteta has given the green light for Arsenal to sign Rodrygo in the summer transfer window, as per the Athletic, but their report adds reaching an agreement will be difficult. To sanction an exit, Madrid are likely to demand £84million (€100m).
The Brazilian could plausibly leave Real Madrid in the summer with his minutes going forward uncertain and big changes likely to occur in the Spanish capital.
football.london says: If Rodrygo wants the move and a favourable fee can be negotiated, it is absolutely worth Arsenal going big for the 24-year-old.
That could be the statement signing that takes the Gunners up to the next level with his winning experience and undeniable ability likely to significantly help Arteta in his search to win trophies.
If he joins alongside Zubimendi and Gyokeres, that can be considered a successful window even if a shot-stopper and defender are not acquired given the options currently available.
