Craig Hope now says Newcastle United staff have noticed something about Alexander Isak

· 17 May 2025, 10:30

**On Sunday, Alexander Isak will face the club that feels it holds a divine right to sign him this summer, in the form of Arsenal, as Newcastle United travel to the Emirates.**

The Gunners have been linked with a move for Isak for months, and at one point the stories being put out by the UK media were simply embarrassing, with journalists and pundits going on as if Isak's move to Arsenal was predetermined by a being up on high.

Thankfully, all that has died down recently as it has become increasingly clear that Newcastle have no intention of selling their star player.

As the rumours have wound down, though, so too has Isak's form. The Swedish star has managed to stay amongst the goals thanks to a couple of penalties, but he has been far from his best lately.

Alexander Isak has been way off his usual standard lately

It turns out it's not just a trick of the mind that he's not meeting our lofty expectations, as Craig Hope has acknowledged this drop off too, and he even suggested in his recent YouTube video that the Newcastle United staff are more than aware too.

> “He's way off his very best.

>

> “We all know that and the staff on the inside know that.”

Will Alexander Isak return to his best to haunt Arsenal?

Isak has looked cut off from the rest of the attack, whether he's not getting the service or he's not making himself available.

There have been times, too, where the service has been there, but he's been unable to apply the finish. He's missed some sitters by his standards lately.

Whatever is going on, we hope it has been addressed this week so he can get back to doing what he does best - embarrassing Arsenal.
