Arsenal target set to leave current club this summer

Arsenal host Champions League-chasing Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s side have endured a somewhat disappointing end to the current campaign, having seen their hopes of winning both the Premier League and Champions League evaporate.

The Gunners are once again set to finish the season without a trophy, with Arteta’s side likely to finish as Premier League runners-up for the third consecutive campaign.

Off the pitch, however, it appears that the North London outfit have been handed some good news in their pursuit of a Serie A star.

According to TBR Football, Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is free to leave Turin this summer having failed to agree a new contract with the Old Lady.

The Serbian’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season and his club had hoped to agree an extension, but the report claims that Juventus have now walked away from negotiations after the player refused to take a pay cut.

Vlahovic, 25, is therefore set to be available this summer for a fee of just £25 million, the report claims, and Arsenal are likely to be interested having previously explored a possible move for the forward.

The Serbia international joined Juventus from fellow Serie A side Fiorentina in 2022 and has since scored 55 goals in 140 matches for his current club.

It is claimed that the player’s representatives have been in contact with several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Turkish side Galatasaray are also said to be keeping tabs on the striker, with the Super Lig giants set to lose on-loan forward Victor Osimhen who is set to return to parent club Napoli at the end of the current campaign.
