ESPN Analyst Reacts To Commanders Schedule

The Washington Commanders are a popular pick by many to not only reach the playoffs for the second straight year, but to be a perennial Super Bowl title contender as well.

With a top young quarterback in Jayden Daniels, and a strong coaching staff, the Commanders are looking to build off a strong 2024 season that ended with them in their first conference title appearance in over three decades.

That kind of success brings more viewership around the league. Washington is at the top of teams around the league with primetime games scheduled in 2025. And ESPN's Peter Schrager made it clear why.

“The league is very high on the Washington Commanders,” Schrager said. “I don't think anyone expected the Commanders to have seven standalone primetime games including Thanksgiving, Christmas, MNF vs. Caleb Williams and Patrick Mahomes.”

Washington has one of the toughest schedules in the league this year outside of their standalone contests. Matchups against NFC East foes like the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are expected to show whether the Commanders' run in 2024 was a fluke or a sign of extended success.

A big positive coming Washington's way at this stage is that they have bolstered their lineup in preparation for the tougher schedule. Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil were acquired during the offseason.

Trey Amos and Josh Conerly were added during the 2025 draft.

Washington is close to completion as a roster this year. And the league recognizes their championship caliber squads with the goal of putting them in Primetime as much as possible.
