The 2025 NFL season is coming up quickly and the [Green Bay Packers](https://totalpackers.com) are hoping to be a top-tier Super Bowl contender. Over the last couple of years, they have shown signs of contention, but have not quite had enough to make that kind of run.
Looking ahead to the upcoming campaign, the Packers feel that they have improved from last season. If they play up to their full potential, a championship could very well be in the cards.
Offensively, Green Bay is in a great spot. In fact, for the first time in a long time, they might have too many weapons at the wide receiver position for Jordan Love to work with.
Right now, the team has Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, and Savion Williams as their top wideouts. All of them are more than capable and talented enough to play a big role.
Doubs, in particular, will be an interesting player to keep an eye on throughout the 2025 campaign.
Speaking of Doubs, has received strong praise ahead of the upcoming season. [Pro Football Focus](https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-most-underrated-players-all-32-nfl-teams-2025) has named him as the Packers’ most underrated player.
“Doubs has quietly put up more than 1,500 receiving yards over the past two seasons — the second most among all Packers players, behind only Jayden Reed. He has also delivered a 75.0 PFF receiving grade, also ranking second on the team, behind only Reed, since 2023,” they wrote.
“Doubs’ ability to step up deep downfield and come down with contested catches has been crucial for Green Bay, as he not only leads the team in contested-catch rate over the past two seasons (58.7%) but also ranks 11th among 104 qualifying wide receivers over that span.”
Heading into the season, Green Bay also has a decision to make. Doubs and Watson are heading into the final year of their respective contracts. If the Packers want to keep them, they’ll have to work out some kind of extension.
Throughout his three years with the team, Doubs has played in 43 total games. He has caught 147 passes for 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns.
During that time period, he has also become a favorite target for Love. While trade rumors have swirled around him at times over the last year, Doubs could still be a very important long-term piece of the puzzle. Only time will tell, but he’s receiving praise and is primed to be a key part of what Green Bay does offensively again in 2025.
