Former NFL star Antonio Brown was detained by police after gunshots were fired outside of Adin Ross’ celebrity boxing event in Miami.
According to a report from the Associated Press, police responded to an alert from the gunshot detection system ShotSpotter at approximately 3 a.m. local time on Saturday morning. Department spokeswoman Kiara Delva said officers questioned multiple people, but no arrests were made. No injuries were reported at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing, but authorities are currently unable to confirm names of anyone involved.
As for Brown, video posted to social media appears to show the former wide receiver involved in a fight with multiple people outside the event, which was held at the Brand Risk Warehouse in Miami. Brown appears to be holding a gun in the video as he chases someone outside the venue. Shortly thereafter, gunshots can be heard off camera.
Another video showed Brown being escorted from the facility by police with his hands behind his back.
“Regarding the boxing event that happened last night, I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” Brown wrote on social media. “Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.
“I will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me. I will keep you all posted step-by-step on the process. Thank you for the support and love.”

Brown was one of the NFL’s top receivers while playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010 to 2018. However, a combination of off-the-field incidents and issues with different teams — including walking off the field in the middle of a game — led to him being out of the league three years later.
Brand Risk Boxing 7 was the lastest offering from Ross, a well-known streamer and social media personality.
