The Buffalo Bills, as the defending AFC East champions, have their sights set on a Super Bowl run in 2025.
That has been the case for many years now, but the current season might be the perfect time for the Bills to finally get over the hump in their conference.
Buffalo has a relatively easier schedule than most contending teams in the league this year. The current ranking has them with the ninth-easiest schedule in the league. Despite those metrics, they do have some difficult home matchups coming up.
It's something that NFL reporter Matthew Verderame understandss, but sees at least some benefit to that.
"The Bills should coast to their sixth consecutive division title. Buffalo will feast on the East, but there are tough games at home," Verderame said. "The Chiefs and Ravens are coming to town, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals. The good news? The road slate is a cakewalk, with the Pittsburgh Steelers being the lone exception."
Having top contenders have to come to Western New York is a great thing for the Bills. Those games will have plenty of intensity, and the crowd could certainly help Buffalo in those games.
Easier road games are better to deal with at this point. And it's why the Bills are seen as a legitimate Super Bowl contender going into the start of the regular season.
