Chelsea are expected to battle Liverpool and Chelsea for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Joao Pedro. He has now become a top target for top Premier League clubs after a successful 2024–25 Premier League season. The 23-year-old Brazilian forward has scored 10 league goals and six assists in 27 league matches, his most productive top-flight campaign yet.
Pedro has been instrumental in Brighton’s pursuit of European football, with the Seagulls fighting for a spot in the UEFA Conference League. His positional awareness at the front and deadly finish have not escaped the attention of some of the country’s leading clubs, who are reportedly in the running.
Brighton will expect an offer much higher than the £30 million with which they raided Watford for Pedro’s services in 2023. As per reports, the club are demanding up to £100 million for the striker, taking into consideration his importance to them and his value in the market.
Chelsea are finding themselves struggling with their capability of being able to field a striker on a consistent basis. Nicolas Jackson has been injured and suspended at different points, while others like Marc Guiu are out of contention. Unsurprisingly, the Blues have been linked to signing a new striker.
Arsenal are looking to bring in a new striker, and have been linked with a number of them, such as Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak. Liverpool, on the other hand, are said to be looking for Pedro as a possible signing to strengthen their attacking bench. The Brazilian could be on his way out of Brighton this summer, opening the door for a transfer tussle between the Gunners, the Blues, and the Reds.
Who Are Chelsea’s Forward Targets?
Chelsea are busy tracking a string of targets at striker aside from Joao Pedro as they look to introduce depth to their attacking line-up before next season. Among the marquee players on offer is Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. Enzo Maresca already knows Delap, having managed at Manchester City’s academy, so the switch could be eased.
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is another player on the radar. The 21-year-old Slovenian striker has impressed with his performances in the Bundesliga, making him an attractive option for the Blues. Victor Osimhen of Napoli remains a long-standing target. The Nigerian international is expected to reduce his wage demands for the Blues to potentially sign him.
Chelsea are also tracking French striker Serhou Guirassy, who has just signed with Borussia Dortmund. Another target player from Strasbourg is Emmanuel Emegha.
