A superb second half strike from Declan Rice gave Arsenal a 1-0 win over Newcastle on Sunday and confirmed the club’s place in the Champions League next season.
In a repeat of last weekend’s draw at Anfield, Arsenal weren’t at their best before the break, with David Raya making some impressive stops (one brought about by his own error) to keep the scores level. Things were much better after half-time and Rice scored another memorable goal to give Arsenal a lead very much in keeping with the run of play.
Newcastle came into the game again late on but, even with a lot of added time, didn’t look like scoring against an Arsenal side that welcomed Kai Havertz back from injury and gave late cameos to Kieran Tierney and Jorginho before they leave the club this summer.
