Arsenal and Newcastle will both face charges from the FA for failing to control their players during their Premier League clash at the Emirates.
That is according to former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett, who exclusively told Football Insider that the “mass confrontation” will be investigated by the FA.
The game saw Mikel Arteta’s side take all three points, securing another season of Champions League football thanks to a superb strike from Declan Rice.
However, the result has piled the pressure on Newcastle, who now sit level on points with Chelsea and Aston Villa and just one above Man City and Nottingham Forest.
The race to qualify for Europe’s premier competition will now go to the last day of the season, with any three of the afore-mentioned clubs aiming high.

David Raya and Dan Burn spark mass Arsenal brawl
Such was the importance of the game for both teams, tensions had risen in the game’s closing moments after referee Simon Hooper booked David Raya for time-wasting.

Following an extended period of added time, Dan Burn clashed with Raya, sparking players from both sides to charge in pushing and shoving.
While the incident was eventually cleared without any major issues, the referee will issue a special incident report which will likely result in punishment.
The typical punishment if found guilty by the FA would be a £20,000 fine.

Hackett issues FA charge verdict after Newcastle clash
Charges of failing to control players have been seen before this season, most recently during the Championship clash between Burnley and Sheffield United last month.
Hackett explained that players clashing as seen at the Emirates will lead to an FA review and likely a further charge following the game.
“Another mass confrontation,” he told Football Insider.
“This time in the Arsenal v Newcastle game with pressure building.
“Simon Hooper extended added time due to time wasting by the Arsenal goalkeeper.
“The final corner kick went to Newcastle United, and after the goalkeeper gained possession, Dan Burn went towards him and sparked a mass confrontation.
“It will be another case for the FA to review, with a strong possibility that both clubs will be charged for failing to control their players.”
Arsenal will now turn their attentions to the final game of the season, a visit to already-relegated Southampton, where they can celebrate another second-placed finish.
Newcastle, meanwhile, face a crucial visit from Everton, while they will also have eyes on Fulham v Man City, Man United v Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest v Chelsea.
