'I'm told...' - Journalist says 'unbelievable' £70m forward now 'very open' to joining Arsenal…

Antoine Semenyo would be "very open" to joining Arsenal should he leave Bournemouth this summer, Ben Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT.

The Ghanaian attacker's future is the subject of speculation amid links to Manchester United, but the Gunners are seemingly keeping tabs. He has impressed at the Vitality this season, registering nine goals and six assists in 35 Premier League games.

Arsenal are expected to make major signings in their frontline, including out wide, where injuries majorly disrupted their season. Semenyo offers versatility as he can play on either wing or as a centre-forward.

Semenyo has been with the Cherries since January 2023 after arriving from Bristol City in a reported £10m deal, and he hasn't spent any of his club career in London. The 27-cap Ghana international is eyeing a return to the English capital, where he grew up in the Southern region, and ideally to join the club he supported.

Jacobs delved into the winger's situation and his interest in a move to the Emirates:

"I'm also told that if Semenyo is to leave, he would be very open to Arsenal and London. I believe he grew up as an Arsenal fan, even as a kid. But they are not as advanced or set on making a move yet."

Semenyo isn't a priority for the North Londoners because they want to strengthen in other areas:

"The left side and centre forward are the two priorities for Arsenal. So Semenyo may have to be a little bit patient, whereas Dean Huijsen (already signed for Real Madrid) and potentially (Milos) Kerkez could go quite fast."

The Cherries are reportedly asking for £70m to sell Semenyo, which could be putting potential suitors off the winger, who Dimitar Berbatov dubbed "unbelievable" earlier this season:

"The price that Bournemouth is asking for Semenyo might just slow down a few of his suitors who are, at this stage, alert to the opportunity but certainly not in any advanced state."

Semenyo opened up on supporting Arsenal during an interview with The Athletic, where he said that he doesn't conflict with the two with his job. He insisted "it is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life" but he could soon be playing for the Gunners should they swoop for his signature this summer.
