Flick: Barca may ‘have to work even harder’ for titles next season

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick says his team may have to work “even harder” to win titles next season after winning three domestic trophies in his first campaign at the club.

The German has led Barca to victory in La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup in a dream campaign for the Catalan giants.

Flick spoke out after seeing Sunday’s defeat to Villarreal and feels his team did a great job.

> “Next season we may have to work even harder to win titles. It’s not about perfection, it’s about evolution,” he told DAZN.

>

> “The players have done an extraordinary job and deserve a day like this. I’ve told the players they deserve this celebration.

>

> “You can feel the connection with the fans all season, and the way the team plays has helped foster this connection. The party was incredible, and for me as a German, it was incredible.”

The Barcelona boss also highlighted how he felt the team’s defeat to Atletico was crucial part of the campaign.

> “We saw a lot of potential in the team and thought we could improve things, and the players have shown how good they are with the ball. As a player or as a human being, when you have confidence, anything is possible,” he added.

>

> “In every training session, you see what they like to improve, and for me, the most important game was the one against Atlético. We lost, but we played very well, and here we’re starting to shake off that November slump.

>

> “It helped us keep believing. De Jong returned, Gavi returned, we improved, and now we can celebrate.”

Barca will now celebrate what been a brilliant campaign, while Flick will aim to add more trophies to his collection next year.
