DeVonta Issues Major Take on Eagles and International Fans

While most of the eyes of the NFL world center around A.J. Brown when discussing who the best receiver on the Philadelphia Eagles is, DeVonta Smith is usually the player that gets overlooked.

A former first round pick by the team in 2021, Smith has been a model of consistency since coming to the team. Not only have the Eagles reached the playoffs in every year he's been in the league, but he's also become one of the most underrated players in football.

Through it all, Smith's love for the city of Philadelphia remains as constant as his skill set.

In an exclusive interview with MARCA during a trip to Madrid, Spain, Devonta Smith dropped a love letter not only to the Eagles but the city he was in celebrating his Super Bowl ring.

"I wouldn't play for any team other than the Philadelphia Eagles," Smith said. "It's amazing the support they (the Spanish fans) give to their teams and all that...they are very committed to everything they do."

Smith saw a little bit of the international fanbase last year when the Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers in Brazil to open the 2024 season. Madrid will also host an NFL game this year when the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins face off in a mid-season showdown.

Smith believes the city is ready for an NFL game having spent time this offseason there.

And with his love for the city of Philly, Smith's comments should carry plenty of weight as well.
