The Washington Commanders knew immediately following the 2024 season that they needed more firepower on offense to match up against the better groups around the league.
In many ways, they accomplished that goal.
The Commanders traded for All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers in March, as well as Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil to protect Jayden Daniels' blindside.
More work can be done, though.
Douglas Fritz of Clutch Points believes that the Commanders could look to trade for All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill. Especially if the team cannot bolster their pass rush with another top defensive player in Trey Hendrickson.
"Hill would provide exactly what the Commanders need, and what opposing defenses don’t want to see," Fritz said. "Whether Hill wants to be traded might be determined by which way the wind is blowing on a given day, but the Commanders need to try if they can’t get [Trey] Hendrickson.
"The Commanders are solid at wide receiver with Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel, Noah Brown, and Michael Gallup. But adding a third element like Hill to McLaurin and Samuel could put Washington over the top."
A trio of receivers like this would easily be the best in the league. It really wouldn't be close. There's also a way for it to happen as well.
If the Miami Dolphins don't perform well early in the year, they could look to move on from the controversial star. With plenty of cap space and draft picks to move, the Commanders are one of the few teams that would be a plausible destination for a $30 million-level player like Hill.
And transform their offense even more.
