The Green Bay Packers proposed a major NFL rule change early on in the offseason. They would like to see the Philadelphia Eagles’ famous “Tush Push” get banned.
While the Packers would like to eliminate the play, the Eagles would be devastated to see something happen to it. One former Green Bay fan favorite stands to gain from the play if it remains in use.
AJ Dillon decided to sign with Philadelphia during NFL free agency this offseason. With his skill-set and size, he would be a perfect fit for the “Tush Push.” His ability to push Jalen Hurts forward would come in clutch.
With that being said, Dillon has spoken out against the idea of banning the play.
Former Green Bay Packers RB Pushes Back Against Potential “Tush Push” Ban
Dillon did not hesitate to defend the play. He had a strong argument against the idea of banning it.
“Absolutely,” Dillon said. “I think it’s the most efficient play in football. At least while the Eagles have been running it. I don’t know exactly what the stats are but ballpark range 90% first downs. I definitely want to be on that side of it rather than trying to stop.”

Throughout his tenure with the Packers, Dillon was loved by the fans. He was affectionately known as “Quadzilla.”
He played in 60 games throughout his years in Green Bay. In those appearances, he carried the football 597 carries for 2,428 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 4.1 yards per attempt. Dillon also caught 86 passes for 763 yards and two more touchdowns.
It will be interesting to see what the NFL owners decide to do when it comes to voting on banning the play. Dillon is clearly hoping that it remains in existence for his upcoming tenure with the Eagles.
