Should This€65M striker Snub Arsenal And Opt To Join Man United Instead?

Viktor Gyokeres Sporting CP

Arsenal and Manchester United have received a huge boost because Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Viktor Gyokeres is going to leave Sporting at the end of this season.

The striker has had another successful campaign in Portugal – scoring more than 50 goals and also winning silverware. Now, he is ready for a fresh challenge and Sporting will not stand in his way. Despite major interest, he remained with the club last year and as a gesture of good faith, Sporting will now allow him to leave, for a fee lower than his release clause.

According to Romano, the Portuguese side will accept a transfer fee in the region of €65 million and this amount is more than enough to tempt Man United and Arsenal. At a time when Newcastle United are demanding around €150 million for Alexander Isak, signing Viktor Gyokeres at €65 million will be an absolute steal.

Should Viktor Gyokeres choose Arsenal or join the Red Devils?

In the last couple of weeks, Arsenal have emerged as the favourites to sign the striker but some pundits think Viktor Gyokeres should reunite with Ruben Amorim.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed his best form under Amorim and the pair can easily create the same magic at Old Trafford next season.

Rejoining and playing under a manager who knows his strengths and weaknesses can be hugely beneficial but we strongly believe that Viktor Gyokeres should choose Arsenal over MUFC.

If United qualify for the Champions League they can make a very strong case for themselves but the Red Devils are nowhere close to challenging for any major trophy. Ruben Amorim has been very candid in his press conferences and the manager has reiterated that United will not be in the Premier League title challenge in the 25/26 campaign.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are a much more well-rounded team and they will surely be title contenders next season.

They are going to finish second in the Premier League this season and in Europe, they knocked out Real Madrid from the Champions League quarter-final. Mikel Arteta will bring in some necessary reinforcements in the summer and if these signings are good enough then the Gunners can do even better next campaign.

At either club, Viktor Gyokeres will instantly become the undisputed centre-forward but his goals and contributions will generate a lot more value in North London.

Manchester United could look to spoil Arsenal’s party by offering the striker a lucrative deal but for any progress to happen, the club first needs to secure Champions League football.
