NFL pundit makes bombshell Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs claims: “I see huge division challenges” | SportsTak
Appearing on ESPN earlier this week, Adam Schefter delivered a stark assessment of the challenges awaiting the Chiefs in 2025.
“This may just be the single toughest division and the most division challenges that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have faced since he started as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback,” Schefter stated. “I see huge division challenges all across the board for the Chiefs, making it difficult for them to finish in the type of spot with as many wins as they normally do.”
It’s a rare warning for a franchise that’s not only captured six straight division titles but also three Super Bowl rings in that span. But Schefter’s cautionary take stems from major shifts happening across the AFC West — all of which point to a far more competitive field in 2025.

The award was established in 2020, and Mahomes has yet to take home a Nickelodeon blimp in his illustrious career.
2025 NFL schedule: Top game for every week of regular season, from juiced opener to Jayden vs. Caleb Part 2 | CBS Sports
Week 9: Kansas City Chiefs atBuffalo Bills
Sunday, Nov. 2, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)
Any time we get Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen squaring off against one another, it’s must-see TV, and we’re fortunate to have this game on the CBS slate this season. This will be the 10th career meeting between these quarterbacks. So far, Allen has owned the regular-season contests against Mahomes as he’s 4-1. However, even if he adds to that impressive record, it likely won’t answer any big-picture questions about his ability to get over hump in the playoffs. There, Mahomes is a perfect 4-0 against Allen, which includes a 32-29 win against Buffalo in the 2024 AFC Championship.

NFL has shown no inclination to have a draft lottery | NBC Sports
Here’s the problem. Merely having a lottery legitimizes the reality that, at some point in a lost season, it’s good to be bad. With the NFL stubbornly pushing the notion that every team tries its best to win every game of every regular season, anything that would crystallize the perception that losing leads to winning would take a sledgehammer to the façade of competitive integrity.
One way to eliminate that would be to give, for example, each of the 18 non-playoff teams an equal shot at the first pick, the second pick, and so on. The only risk from that approach would be the possibility that an owner of a team with a snowball’s chance of scaling the playoff mountain a 5.5 percent shot at a potentially transformational talent.
Unlike the leagues that have lotteries, the NFL maintains a clear firewall between being at the bottom of the standings and the top of the draft order. While it’s obvious that the worst picks first, the league prefers to draw as little attention as possible to the very real strategic benefit of embracing the suck.
Larry Fitzgerald optimistic about Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.: ‘He’s only gonna continue to get better’ | NFL.com
Speaking at Kyler Murray’s charity softball game on Saturday, former Arizona great Larry Fitzgerald spoke highly of Marvin Harrison Jr., the second-year wideout coming off an up-and-down rookie campaign.
“I saw a guy who made a lot of plays,” Fitzgerald said, via the Arizona Republic’s Theo Mackie. “He did a really good job. When the ball came to him, he made his plays. He’s only gonna continue to get better so I’m excited to see his Year 2.”
Harrison did make a handful of splash plays as a rookie and finished with a more-than-respectable stat line of 885 yards and eight touchdowns on 62 receptions. But given the hype surrounding him as the No. 4 overall pick and son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, his performance still fell short of early expectations.
Former Jets DB Jamal Adams likes idea of return to team | ESPN
Former All-Pro safety Jamal Adams, whose messy divorce from the New York Jets in 2020 led to one of the biggest trades in franchise history, wants to run it back in New York.
“I would love to be back with the Jets and, obviously, finish it the right way,” he said Wednesday night in a chat with Jets fans on the social media platform X. “Man, that would be a dream come true, just to patch up that relationship and kind of make it right.”
Adams, 29, appearing as a guest on “The Jets Lounge,” said he could be a valuable veteran asset to the team, which is undergoing a youth movement under first-year coach Aaron Glenn. Adams, who spent last season with the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions after a four-year run with the Seattle Seahawks, is a free agent.
“[I would] just come in as a seasoned vet, give game to the young cats and help in any way, shape or form I can,” he said. “I know I can still play football. I’m healthy and I know I can impact the game in a lot of ways. I just need that fair opportunity to come in and show what I can do.”

Chiefs News: Kansas City adds veteran guard Tremayne Anchrum
The Kansas City Chiefs have signed free-agent veteran offensive guard Tremayne Anchrum, according to the league’s official Friday transactions report.
Anchrum, 26, first entered the league out of Clemson as a seventh-round pick made by the Los Angeles Rams during the 2020 NFL Draft.
A tackle in college, the 6-foot-2, 314-pound lineman transitioned to the guard position with the Rams, appearing in 31 games but making his one and only career start in 2022. However, that start only lasted two snaps, as Anchrum fractured his fibula. During the four seasons in Los Angeles, Anchrum compiled a total of 101 snaps on offense and 133 snaps on special teams.
In 2024, Anchrum had preseason stops in Seattle and New Orleans before ultimately landing on the Houston Texans’ practice squad. Anchrum never appeared in a game for Houston.
