Morgan Rogers will not leave Aston Villa in the summer transfer window – despite speculation linking him with clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea.
In his first full season at Villa Park the 22-year-old has established himself as one of the brightest stars in the Premier League, providing 14 goals and 15 assists in 53 matches in all competitions.
His strong running, ball-carrying and excellent decision-making have seen the former West Brom trainee establish himself in the England set-up – and alerted clubs who slept on him when he was struggling to make an impact at Manchester City.
Liverpool are one such club said to be keen on the Halesowen-based forward but according to TBR Football, Rogers is not minded to make the move to Anfield any-time soon.
Reporter Graeme Bailey has told them: “Liverpool love Morgan Rogers, there’s no getting away from that.
“But it’s highly unlikely that Rogers leaves for more than one reason. With a lot of these players, the feedback I’m getting from the players’ camps is that they are very mindful that we’re in a World Cup cycle now.
“So someone like Rogers…if he leaves now, if he goes to Liverpool for instance, then playing devil’s advocate and it doesn’t work out, he’s not going to the World Cup.”
Chelsea have also been credited with an interest, with one report claiming they are watching Villa's Profitability & Sustainability situation.
