Benjamin Sesko Liverpool
Anfield Liverpool
Viktor Gyokeres might be the most sought-after centre-forward right now but RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko isn’t lagging far behind. The 21-year-old is wanted by multiple top European clubs and according to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool have also joined the transfer race.
Arsenal were the first major suitors but the Gunners have now shifted their focus to Gyokeres. However, Chelsea remain interested in him but the Blues might have to battle the current English champions for the youngster’s signature.
Benjamin Sesko is under contract at the Bundesliga club until 2029 and RB Leipzig are reportedly demanding around €80 million for the striker.
Should Liverpool challenge Chelsea for Benjamin Sesko?
Liverpool will offload Darwin Nunez at the end of this season so signing a new world-class centre-forward is a priority for Arne Slot. The Reds have been linked with several top strikers in recent months but we don’t think they will be able to land either Gyokeres or Osimhen.
Benjamin Sesko is in his second season with RB Leipzig and he’s scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for the club. This season, the 21-year-old has netted 21 goals with an xG of 9.89.

His tall frame, athleticism and ability to play on the shoulder of the defenders make him a perfect fit for the brand of football that Arne Slot has incorporated at Liverpool in his first season in charge. The manager not only needs someone who can score 25 plus goals next season but also a forward who is a proper team player.
Yes, the asking price is a bit too steep when Benjamin Sesko is compared to the likes of Osimhen and Gyokeres but it makes sense to spend that kind of money on a 21-year-old.
So Chelsea hold an advantage in this transfer race?
Chelsea are also looking for an upgrade to Nicolas Jackson which means they will not give up without a fight. The Blues have already fallen behind in the race for Viktor Gyokeres and they won’t agree to pay €150 million for Alexander Isak. This means they currently have only two options left – Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko.
Todd Boehly will happily pay €80 million for the Leipzig striker and if the club can clear all the deadwood then offering a lucrative salary package shouldn’t be a problem either. Liverpool are a much more competitive and well-rounded side but that’s the only advantage they currently hold.
We seriously doubt that Liverpool’s owners will be ready to break the bank for Benjamin Sesko.
