Supporters join forces for football tournament

Before our recent game against Bournemouth, fans from across our official supporters’ groups came together for a special tournament at The Arsenal Hub.

Representatives from the Gay Gooners, Jewish Gooners, Arsenal Bengal, Arsenal Shanghai, Peruvian Gooners, and Arsenal Denmark took part in the friendly competition, bringing passion and community spirit to the pitch. As part of the event, all participating groups generously donated items to support the Islington Foodbank.

The tournament was made possible thanks to the Premier League Fans Fund, which supports projects that strengthen the connection between clubs, their supporters, and local communities. The event followed another recent community initiative, where fans came together for a spring clean-up of the Islington Ecology Centre.

Samir Singh, Arsenal Inclusion Manager, said:

“Thanks to the PL Fans Fund, we've been able to run a series of friendly tournaments on matchdays this season. We use each tournament as an opportunity to highlight a social issue or a good cause — and in this case, it was food poverty in the local area, so we asked all players to bring along a donation for the Islington Foodbank.

Thanks to all those who attended — it was played in a great spirit.”

Other projects supported by the Premier League Fans Fund include matchday foodbank collections and beginners’ football sessions for women, both of which promote inclusivity and community engagement through football.
