Setford named in England's U19s Euros squad

Tommy Setford has been included in the England squad for their UEFA U19 European Championships campaign next month.

The Young Lions will play Norway at 3pm on Saturday, June 14 before taking on Germany with a 6pm kick-off on Tuesday, June 17, and then wrapping up the duties with a 6pm kick-off against the Netherlands on Friday, June 20, with all three games taking place in Romania.

England have reached the last eight of the competition after coming through two qualifying rounds this season, looking to win the tournament for the first time since 2022 when Hale End product Brooke Norton-Cuffy featured.

The top two nations from the group tables will progress to the semi-finals which will be held on Monday, June 23, with the final scheduled for Thursday, June 26.

Our young goalkeeper has featured on seven occasions for England’s under-19s to date, keeping three clean sheets, and has represented the country at U18s, U17s and U16s age levels.

For us, he made one Carabao Cup appearance this season away to Preston North End and has regularly been involved in Premier League and UEFA Champions League squads.
