Having already wrapped up the La Liga title, FC Barcelona do not have any other trophy left to compete for in this 2024-25 season, and their campaign is virtually over, even though they still have one match left to play.
As a result, the Blaugranes can now focus fully on the upcoming summer transfer window, during which they will be looking to strengthen some weak areas of their team.
Barcelona interested in Neyser Villarreal
Meanwhile, keeping up with their traditions of developing young talent, the Catalans continue to keep an eye on some of the most promising talents emerging in world football.
In this regard, the latest player to be linked with Barcelona is the Colombian forward, Neyser Villarreal, the 20-year-old striker who is currently playing for Millonarios FC.
Mundo Deportivo highlights that sources from Colombia claim that the Blaugranes have already followed the player in the last South American U-20 Championship, a tournament he ended as the top scorer with 8 goals to his name, and are very interested in signing him.
The youngster’s contract with Millonarios runs till the coming December, and so far, he has refused to renew this contract.

Atletico Madrid had also made an offer for him
Furthermore, another La Liga club, Atletico Madrid, had also tried to make a quick move for the forward, and had also actually reached a deal of €4 million with Millonarios for his transfer. However, the player and his agents refused the proposal. Before that, Villarreal’s agents had also refused an offer from Vasco da Gama.
In the past few years, Barcelona have been following a clear policy of signing emerging talents before their transfer value rises to unaffordable levels. Thus, they can decide to make a bet on Neyser Villarreal, but it remains to be seen whether they do so.
Furthermore, it also remains to be seen whether they would want to use him to strengthen their reserve team or send him on a loan to help him adapt to Spanish football.
