ATLANTA— Georgia State women's basketball announces the addition of Michelle McLeod as the program's new Director of Basketball Operations, bringing a wealth of experience and championship pedigree to the Panthers.
"We're thrilled to welcome Michelle to our staff!" Women's Basketball Head Coach Gene Hill said. "She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, and will be a tremendous asset in providing strong leadership and organization."
McLeod joins the Georgia State staff after serving as an executive assistant with the University of Central Florida (UCF) women's basketball program during the 2024-25 season. Prior to her time in Orlando, she held multiple leadership roles at Georgia Southern, where she served as Director of Basketball Operations during the 2022-23 season and was elevated to Chief of Staff in 2023-24, helping oversee all aspects of the program's day-to-day operations.
Before her tenure at Georgia Southern, McLeod spent four seasons with the North Carolina Central men's basketball team and Assistant Director of Basketball Operations, where she played an integral role in the program's success. During her time there, she managed team travel, budgets, scheduling and supervised student managers, helping guide the Eagles to tow Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships and subsequent appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
A rising leader in college athletics, McLeod was recognized in 2020 as a member of the inaugural class of the John McLendon Minority Leadership Initative, a national program designed to identify and support minorities aspiring to lead in the sports industry.
A native of ANson County, N.C., McLeod earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Coaching Education from the University of North Carolina in 2017. She later received her master's degree in athletic administration from North Carolina Central University.
