Ole Miss Has Just 2 Words for Jaxson Dart Ahead of Rookie Season With Giants

Former Ole Miss Rebels star quarterback Jaxson Dart has made his leap to the NFL. With the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, Dart was selected by the New York Giants.

While there is no guarantee that he will play as a rookie, Dart is the clear-cut long-term franchise quarterback for the Giants.

New York head coach Brian Daboll badly wanted Dart on the team. He got his wish and now will have a chance to develop his hand-picked young quarterback. For Dart, the fit seems to be a great one.

Heading into the 2025 season, Dart will be competing for playing time with veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Fans should not expect him to be the Week 1 starter, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could take over as the starter later on in the year.

Ahead of training camp and preseason action getting started, Ole Miss sent a two-word message about Dart.

Dart made a lasting impact on the Rebels. He will not be forgotten at Ole Miss anytime soon.

During his three-year tenure with the Rebels, Dart completed 65.7% of his pass attempts for 10,617 yards, 72 touchdowns, and just 22 interceptions. He also picked up 1,498 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer spoke out about Dart and stated that he thinks the young signal caller is a "perfect" fit with the Giants.

"I genuinely feel like [Dart is] a great fit. I really like this marriage between Jaxson [Dart], Brian Daboll, and his staff because I do see a lot of things in Jaxson's game," Palmer said. "I don't work with Jaxson, but I certainly look at the game differently. I break down every single guy in the draft. I do my own grades. I've been right a lot more than I've been wrong. And I was really high on Jaxson."

Only time will tell what the future has in store for Dart. New York training camp will begin on July 16 with rookies reporting on that day. The veterans will report on July 23.
