Manchester United are among those lining up a move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, with their head coach Ruben Amorim a huge admirer of the Frenchman, according to the Sun.
The Red Devils want to strengthen their attack when the summer transfer window opens after watching Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggle in front of goal all campaign, and the Blues star has caught the eye of their Portuguese boss, but the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, West Ham United and Paris Saint Germain are also monitoring his situation.
Amorim believes the Premier League experience of Nkunku will come in handy, which makes him a superb option in his bid to turn Man United into a force to be reckoned with again.
The 27-year-old has 17 goals and five assists since joining Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023, and while the return is not eye-catching, he bagged 58 goals and 29 assists in his last two seasons in the Bundesliga and he has what it takes to replicate that form if he can stay fit and have regular playing opportunities.
Nkunku can play excellently well across the frontline, and his versatility will come in handy at the Old Trafford club.
Man United currently lack the needed attacking quality, and recruiting the services of the Chelsea man could be huge if he manages to hit the ground running.
The Europa League finalists have been linked with summer moves for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap and Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha, but they need more reinforcements in the position and taking a punt on the Frenchman could turn out to be a smart move.
He is expected to leave Chelsea having fallen out of favour, and the chance to prove himself elsewhere in the Premier League could appeal to him.
Man United need such a hungry player within their ranks going forward, but they need to pip fierce competition to his services and may need to win their Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday to have a huge chance.
