Derrick Henry Sends 6-Word Message to Ravens Fans After Contract Extension

The Baltimore Ravens welcomed franchise running back Derrick Henry back into their complex this morning with a pen and paper.

As news broke last week that the two sides agreed on a two-year, $30 million extension that would keep him with the Ravens through the 2027 season, Henry was seen signing the contract on Monday morning.

At 31 years old, Henry has been one of the best running backs in the league since being drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.

After playing eight seasons with the Titans, Henry decided to test free agency for the first time in his career and moved on from them, signing with Baltimore in the 2024 offseason.

In doing so, Henry had one of the best seasons of his career, finishing with 2,114 all-purpose yards and 18 total touchdowns for head coach John Harbaugh and the Ravens in 2024.

Derrick Henry describes his feelings towards the Ravens' franchise

As the four-time All-Pro began his contract extension press conference on Monday morning, he had a clear message for the media and Ravens fans.

"I fell in love with everything," Henry said.

Henry has been the perfect running back for quarterback Lamar Jackson in the short time they have played together.

After helping lead Baltimore to the league's top rushing attack for a second straight year, the Ravens finished with 3,189 rushing yards and averaged 187.7 rushing yards per game in 2024.

Age appears to be just another number for Derrick Henry, the NFL's oldest starting running back.

He remains among the league's best alongside stars like the Eagles' Saquon Barkley and the Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs.

The AFC North and the rest of the NFL will have to try to find a way to slow down the combination of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry for seasons to come.
