Ex-France international Yohan Cabaye has likened Cole Palmer to Chelsea icon Eden Hazard.
Speaking to listofsweepstakescasinos.com, Cabaye said that there are similarities between the two players in terms of how they conduct themselves on the pitch:
“I wouldn’t compare him directly to Eden Hazard, but what they have in common is that everything seems easy for them on the pitch. He’s really talented technically, and he scores important goals and contributes assists too. He can dribble past players too, and I think he wanted to play, so he was willing to move from Manchester City to Chelsea. That makes me think he’s a special player.”
Cabaye knows what it’s like to face Hazard
The midfielder came up against the Belgian wizard during his spells with Newcastle and Crystal Palace so he will know how it feels to go up against someone of the former Chelsea player’s ability.
Palmer plays in similar positions to Hazard and he has a knack for creating goals and assists out of nothing. Of course, the important difference is the former is predominantly left-footed, whole the latter preferred his right.

Can Palmer rediscover his best form?
While Hazard did go through dips during his time at Stamford Bridge, you wouldn’t say he ever struggled as much as Palmer has done over the last five months.
The 23-year-old has scored just one penalty in the league since mid-January. He has, however, contributed 4 assists during that time. Even so, a total of 5 goal involvements in his last 21 appearances isn’t a great return by any stretch of the imagination.
Fans will be hoping that Palmer can finish the season strongly before rediscovering his best form ahead of next campaign. If he can’t, any comparisons to Hazard will become a thing of the past.
