May 25th has been labelled as “Championship Sunday” in the Premier League. It is MatchDay 38, the final day for Premier League matches in the 2024/2025 season.

Liverpool has already been crowned champion, while Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton have been handed their relegation marching orders and will return to the Championship next season.

So, what’s at stake?

The Premier League has been awarded five spots in the Champions League for next season.

Liverpool and Arsenal are already locked-in, however, there is only one point that separates positions three through seven on the league table. Those clubs include Newcastle United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest. Three of those clubs will make it to the UCL, while one will play in next season’s Europa League.

Here’s how I see the matches playing out this weekend to determine those coveted remaining spots in the Champions League.

Manchester City beats Bournemouth on Tuesday and Fulham on Sunday.

Nottingham Forest loses to Chelsea.

Aston Villa defeats Manchester United, and Newcastle United will top Everton.

Here’s the final clubs to finish in positions three through six…

Manchester City-71 points, Chelsea-69 points, Aston Villa-69 points and Newcastle United-69 points..

Nottingham Forest-65 points will head to the Europa League, while either Brighton and Hove or Brentford will play in the Europa Conference League next season.

Enjoy the matches!
