Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lee Kang-in has been linked with a move to the Premier League ths summer.
Crystal Palace have ‘stepped up’ their attempts to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lee Kang-in this summer following the historic FA Cup win on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles beat Manchester City at Wembley Stadium and, in doing so, secured a place in the Europa League next season. It’s the first time that Crystal Palace will compete in Europe and manager Oliver Glasner is aware that securing that status will be an advantage in the transfer window.
Speaking after the FA Cup win, Glanser said: “We will be more attractive, of course. Crystal Palace being in the Premier League is attractive – we have great players. Let’s see what the transfer window will bring – it will be a busy summer.
“I don’t want to think about it today. I hope I slowly start to find my party mode and get the right vibe. I’m really looking forward to seeing my family. Many were here today. You want to share the good moments in your life with your family.”
Crystal Palace ‘step up’ interest in PSG midfielder
Glasner was keen to push transfer talk into the distance but, over the weekend, reports from South Korea transfer specialist Han-jun Lee claimed that Crystal Palace had ‘stepped up’ interest in Lee Kang-in. The south London outfit had first been linked with the versatile Paris Saint-Germain man by French outfit Foot 01 in April.
At the time, that seemed like an ambitious coup. Kang-in is playing Champions League football with PSG, and could win that tournament this year, having arrived at the French giants for €22 million in 2023. However, Crystal Palace can now offer the promise of Europa League action to the player, who has struggled for a concrete role in the starting XI this term.
Kang-in has scored 11 goals and picked up 11 assists in his 81 PSG appearances, winning Ligue 1 in 2024 and 2025. He also has 10 goals in 36 outings for the South Korea national side and featured in every match of the nation’s 2022 World Cup campaign.
Lee Kang-in praised for versatility amid Arsenal and Man Utd links
Han-jun Lee adds that Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also monitoring the player with Nottingham Forest said to have ‘stepped up’ their interest too. PSG are expected to be willing to let the South Korea international leave the Parc des Princes for the €22 million (£18.5 million) paid for him two years ago.
Kang-in would be a transfer coup for any Premier League club with the player’s ability to play across midfield and up front particularly attractive. PSG boss Enrique praised that ability following a 3-1 win over Rennes in September, when the midfielder was deployed as a false 9.
Enrique said: “He’s a very versatile player, and what’s crucial for us is that he rarely loses possession. He played as a 'false 9', but with the freedom to roam, and he was exceptional. He scored a clever striker's goal, kept our momentum, and gave us the ball when we needed it.”
